Kylie Claims First Doctor Failed To Diagnose Breast Cancer

( CM ) - Australian singer Kylie Minogue has revealed the first doctor she saw failed to diagnose that she had breast cancer.

Speaking on Ellen DeGeneres' chat show on US TV, the singer said: "Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they're right."

After seeing the first doctor Kylie claimed she continued with her Showgirl tour because she had been informed that she was not ill and said that she had heard similar stories of women being misdiagnosed.

"I don't want to say that to frighten people but that's just a fact," Kylie said.

The Australian singer called for women who suspected they were ill to return to the doctors for a second opinion.

"You must follow your intuition and if you have any doubt go back again," she said.

Chat show host DeGeneres revealed during the interview that she had had lumpectomy after finding a lump in her breast.

"I had just had a mammogram and they didn't find anything and a couple of weeks later I found a lump," she said.

Kylie, 39, first announced that she had breast cancer in 2005.

Her current album X has reached number four in the UK album chart.
