( dpa ) - Two people died in the US state of Oklahoma in separate auto accidents blamed on flooded streets, local media reported Friday.

Both drivers lost control of their cars and crashed into trees.

Bad weather blew across the lower mid-western region on Thursday, with tornadoes ripping off roofs and storms blanketing the more western Colorado in a late-season snow.

While drought continues to plague much of the country, the Midwest has experienced periodic flooding this year. In March, 13 people were killed in serious flooding that inundated homes, caused rivers to leave their banks and residents to be evacuated.
