(dpa) - Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora arrived in Amman Sunday in the course of an Arab tour aimed at mustering support for resolving the political crisis in his country, officials said.

Seniora is scheduled to meet with King Abdullah II, who teamed up with other Arab leaders in boycotting the Arab summit conference in Damascus at the end of March to put pressure on Syria to cooperate in finding solutions to the Lebanese crisis, foremost the election of a new president.

Jordan supports a solution based on national reconciliation and dialogue that leads to the election of a new Lebanese president acceptable to both the majority at parliament and the opposition.
