(dpa) - The number of food poisoning victims in the northern Bosnian city of Tuzla increased Monday to 131 after they had eaten at a local fast-food restaurant, medical sources confirmed.

A total of 18 people, four of whom are in serious condition, have been hospitalized with complaints of stomach problems, fever and vomiting, the hospital reported.

None of the patients are in critical condition, the hospital confirmed.

The number of patients could rise as more victims were expected to report to the hospital during the day.

All the patients had eaten at a fast-food restaurant in downtown Tuzla.

The results of a food analysis are expected to determine the cause of poisoning, but it was believed bad mayonnaise in hamburgers and sandwiches had caused the problem.

Inspectors have closed down the restaurant and opened an investigation.
