The European Union expressed concern Sunday
about parliamentary polls in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and
called for a repeat vote in areas marred by violence, a spokeswoman quoted
chief diplomat Javier Solana as saying in Brussels.
Solana called for peace in the country and said he expects the situation to
improve.
The spokeswoman said Solana was in touch with all the parties.
One person was killed and at least nine injured in bloody clashes between
supporters of the rival Albanian parties, the DUI and DPA. Eleven people
were arrested, dpa reported.
