Residents on the eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus woke up to quite a sight on Thursday after the roof of the island's largest theatre suddenly collapsed while it was closed, reported the dpa.
Police said no-one was hurt after a large part of the roof of the Nicosia municipal theatre, which has a capacity of 1,200, suddenly collapsed late Wednesday night.
The theatre was scheduled to stage an end-of-year children's play on Thursday evening.
The theatre had undergone an extensive renovation in 2004.
