Remaining EU states that have yet to ratify the Lisbon Treaty should do so, regardless of the outcome of referendum in Ireland, Latvian Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins said Friday. "It's important that those countries that didn't (ratify the treaty), do so, so that we are able to get the whole picture from all member states," Riekstins told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa. At the same time, the decision of the Irish people should be respected, he said. Riekstins said he hopes for a thorough analysis of reasons why the Irish rejected the Lisbon Treaty and whether it is possible to put the Lisbon Treaty to a referendum again, as occurred with the Treaty of Nice, reported dpa.
