(dpa) - Former Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini is a candidate for the CSKA Moscow job from next season onwards, Russian television station Sport reported on Sunday.
Sport said that Mancini would come to Moscow later this month to hold talks with club boss Evgeny Giner. The current CSKA coach Valery Gazzaev has announced his departure after the current season.
Mancini won a third straight Serie A title with Inter in May, but then had to leave with Jose Mourinho taking his place.
CSKA were lying seventh in the Russian league ahead of Sunday's match with crosstown rivals FK Moscow. They were the first club from Russia to claim a European trophy when they won the UEFA Cup in 2005.
