French President Nicolas Sarkozy has announced he will visit Syria on 3-4 September as part of efforts to improve ties between the two countries, reported World bulletin.
Sarkozy made the announcement during a speech to France's ambassadors gathered in Paris for their annual meeting on the country's foreign policy.
During the Paris summit, Syria and Lebanon agreed to open embassies in each other's capitals for the first since the 1940s.
