The elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus were held in full conformity with the electoral code of the country, runs the statement of the Central Election Commission of Russia issued after a working visit of CEC Chairman Vladimir Churov to Belarus as an international observer, reported Belta.

"The voting in all polling stations was held in a calm atmosphere and in line with the election legislation of Belarus," the statement says.

On the day of the general elections, September 28, the Chairman of the Russian CEC visited several polling stations in the centre of Minsk and observed the elections in Molodechno (the Minsk oblast) and in the village of Zalesye (the Grodno oblast).

At the same time Vladimir Churov turned the attention to a lesser volume of information and agitation work made by the election commissions of the country in comparison with the activity of the Russian election commissions. All the polling stations visited by the Chairman of the Russian CEC had no information boards with instructions on filling in the ballots. The voters received verbal explanations from the election officials.
