Pakistani President, PM condemn Quetta blast

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani on Monday strongly condemned the blast in Quetta and vowed to crush the evil of terrorism with an iron hand, reported Xinhua.

Zardari and Gillani in separate statements reiterated the government's resolve to eradicate extremism and terrorism from the country, according to official Associated Press of Pakistan.

Zardari said Pakistan is committed to fighting terrorism in allits forms and manifestations and such acts cannot deter the government from its resolve.

Gillani said the perpetrators of such heinous acts will be awarded exemplary punishment.

The two leaders expressed their deep grief over the loss of life and directed the provincial authorities to provide best possible medical treatment to the injured.

At least two persons were killed and 11 others injured in the blast which occurred near the district courts in Quetta, capital city of southwestern Balochistan province on Monday.
