Police say unknown gunmen have kidnapped an Iranian diplomat after killing his guard in Pakistan's volatile northwest, AP reported.
Police official Mohammed Manzoor says the attack happened Thursday morning in Peshawar, where an American aid worker was shot dead by gunmen the day before.
Manzoor says authorities have cordoned off the city's main roads and are trying to trace the kidnapped Iranian.
U.S.-ally Pakistan has experienced a wave of violence in recent years. Its northwest, where al-Qaida and Taliban militants have found hideouts, has borne the brunt.
