At least three Iraqi policemen have been killed and a civilian sustained injuries as a truck bomb ripped through southern part of Mosul, reported Press TV .
"A truck laden with explosives detonated in a garage in Wadi al-Ain district in southern Mosul. The explosion left three policemen killed and a civilian injured," an Iraqi security official told Voices of Iraq on Thursday.
The official, who was speaking on condition of anonymity, added that a cordon of police surrounded the area following the blast and security forces also launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
Despite some recent security gains, Mosul, the capital city of Iraq's Nineveh province still remains a volatile region in war-torn Iraq. The city is situated some 396 km ( 250 miles) northwest of Baghdad.
Explosions are nearly a daily part of life in some parts of Iraq.
