Seven persons were injured on Tuesday in a car bomb blast in the northern city of Mosul, a local security source said.
An explosives-rigged car driven by a suicide bomber was detonated near a national police patrol vehicle in Mosul al-Jadida area, the source told Voices of Iraq news agency.
The casualties included five police patrolmen, the source added.
Mosul lies some 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, reported dpa.
