AC Milan have included David Beckham in their squad for the UEFA Cup, increasing speculation that the former England captain may remain at the San Siro past the intended date of his return to Los Angeles Galaxy, CNN reported.

Beckham, 33, has been in superb form since joining the Serie A giants from MLS side Galaxy on loan until March 9.

And those impressive performances have prompted Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti to include the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder in his UEFA Cup squad, despite Beckham only being eligible to play in two matches in that competition prior to his return to Los Angeles.

"Beckham is becoming an indispensable player for us and he deserves credit for the intelligent way he is playing," Ancelotti told Milan's official Web site.

Beckham initially moved to Milan for two months during the MLS off-season in order to keep up his fitness levels and to remain in England coach Fabio Capello's thought's for this month's friendly international against Spain.
