Sevilla came from behind Wednesday to beat Athletic Bilbao 2-1 in a lively King's Cup semi-final, first-leg clash, dpa reported.
Just as against Valencia in the quarter-finals, Sevilla needed an injury-time goal to win, this time from Argentine Lautaro Acosta.
"We refused to give up again," said Acosta, "and I think we deserved this win."
Against the run of play, Bilbao had gone ahead two minutes before half-time, when promising Spain striker Fernando Llorente headed in a David Lopez corner that keeper Andres Palop had made a mess of.
With youngsters Jesus Navas and Diego Capel progressing down the wings, Sevilla dominated throughout the second half and created a string of good chances.
Aldo Duscher made it 1-1 in the 62nd minute, after the Bilbao defence had failed to clear a corner.
Six minutes from time, Frederic Kanoute was awarded a dubious penalty. His spot-kick hit the post, and keeper Gorza Irazoiz did well to save the rebound.
But Sevilla refused to give up. In the third minute of stoppage time, a shot from Duscher fell kindly for Acosta, who made it 2-1 from close range with his left foot.
Acosta's late goal will allow Sevilla to travel to Bilbao for the second leg with a small advantage.
The other semi-final, between in-form Barcelona and struggling Mallorca, kicks off Thursday in Barca's Camp Nou.
