On Feb. 4, the Swedish police arrested two individuals who threw books at Israeli Ambassador to Sweden Benny Dagan in Stockholm, the Gaaretz newspaper reported.
The incident occurred as Dagan delivered a report on the upcoming Israeli elections on Feb. 10, Swedish media reported. Roughly 50 people attended. Two suspects were arrested and questioned by police in Sedermalme, Stockholm Police Office Press Officer Yoakim Carrillo told journalists.
The names of the perpetrators have not been made public.
Dagan continued to deliver the report after the incident.
This was not the first time the Israeli Embassy in Sweden has been the subject of scandal.
In 2004, an exhibition dedicated to Palestinian victims was held at the Art Museum in Stockholm.
The photos of suicide bomber Palestinian Hanadi Jaradat were shown at the exhibition. Jaradat blew himself up in a restaurant in Haifa and killed 21 people and 51 injured.
Then-Israeli Ambassador Zvy Mazel protested the photos to the museum and exhibition organizers.
The incident lead to a diplomatic row between the two countries.
Mazel resigned several weeks later.
