The participation of the Belarusian military in foreign conflicts is prohibited by the Belarusian legislation, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Popov said at a briefing in Minsk on February 5, BelTA has learnt.
"The real participation of Belarus in the CSTO Collective Rapid Response Forces will be provided, as it has been provided before, by the Belarus-Russia combined forces in the CSTO western responsibility zone. The military involvement of Belarus in foreign conflicts is directly prohibited by the Belarusian law. It will never happen," Andrei Popov underlined.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesman pointed out that in general the Belarusian side is satisfied with the outcome of the recent summits in Moscow.
Sessions of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the EurAsEC Interstate Council were held in Moscow on February 4. The participants of the CSTO session upheld an initiative to establish the CSTO Collective Rapid Response Forces.
