French President Nicolas Sarkozy has arrived in Baghdad on his first trip to Iraq, AP reported.
The French leader was received Tuesday by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in a welcoming ceremony shown on Iraqi state television.
The visit comes as France seeks to rebuild ties with the war-torn nation after opposing the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.
