U.S. President Barack Obama's special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke held meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta on Saturday but did not talk to the press, Xinhua reports.
His talks with Afghan leaders, according to an Afghan official who declined to be named were focused on security situation, war on terror, bilateral relations and the upcoming presidential elections in Afghanistan held in next August.
Holbrooke who arrived in Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday evening, earlier met with Afghan Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak and Interior Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar.
His tour to Afghanistan took place after Wednesday's Taliban multiple suicide attacks on government buildings in Kabul that left 20 dead and injured 54 others.
The U.S. envoy who earlier toured Pakistan is expected to travel to India for talks with Indian leaders.
