Six people died in a car crash in north England before midnight on Friday.
The casualty includes four youth in their late teens and early 20s following a head-on crash between their car and another with two in their 60s in Nottingham, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported on Saturday.
The two cars have been turned into sheer skeleton after huge fire ignited from the collision. All six died at the scene despite police efforts to rescue an elderly passenger from a burning car, Xinhua reported.
Local police have identified the two cars as a Peugeot and a Ford. All the dead are from the local area and their bodies have been recovered from the scene before the road was reopened on Saturday afternoon.
Police are calling for clues to the accident as the weather had been clear and the road had not been icy.
A local councillor has been campaigning for six years to improve the stretch of road where there have been a number of accidents near the junction.
