At least 10 people were killed and 25 injured Friday night when two buses collided in Barnala district of Punjab, western India, reported the Indo-Asian News Service Saturday.
The mishapped bus was going towards Faridkot from Barnala, about 150 kilometers from the city of Chandigarh, state capital of Punjab. Its driver took a sharp turn to save a two-wheeler rider, hitting a private mini bus coming from the opposite direction, said the report.
Six of the 25 injured were in critical condition and are being treated in hospital, said the report.
The accident took place days after at least 27 people were killed and 16 others injured when a bus fell into a gorge in Indian-administered Kashmir Wednesday.
India is one of the countries with highest rate of road accidents in the world, reported Xinhua.
