14 seamen rescued after cargo ship hits sunken vessel off east China

Fourteen seamen were rescued after their cargo ship hit a sunken vessel off east China's Shandong Province early Monday, rescuers said.
The ship, registered in Dongying City, Shandong, collided with a sunken vessel 15 nautical miles south of Shidao Port in Weihai City and was sinking, according to the Beihai Rescue Bureau under the Ministry of Communications. It was en route from Wenzhou City, eastern Zhejiang Province to Tianjin in the north, Xinhua reported.

The bureau said it received a call for help at 4:05 a.m. and immediately dispatched two vessels to the scene.
At 10:56 a.m., the vessel and its crew was towed to Shidao Port safely.
