McDonald's Restaurant burns in downtown Moscow, there is no information about the victims, fire declared the second category of difficulty on a five scale, metropolitan MOE representative reported to RIA Novosti.

"McDonald's Restaurant, located on the first floor of an apartment house at: Tverskaya street, 19, burns in the center of Moscow, there is no information about the victims" - the agency interlocutor said.

He noted that at the moment 15 firefighters' teams are at the site, movement of vehicles around the scene is limited.

According to preliminary data, there was a fire in the ventilation of the restaurant, which faces onto the roof of nine residential buildings.

The first McDonald's restaurant in Russia - then still in the Soviet Union - was opened in 1990 at Pushkin Square in Moscow. The agreement on opening restaurants in the capital was signed in 1988.

Currently in Moscow, over 50 restaurants opened, only Russia has more than 200 McDonald's restaurants, which serve daily more than 600 thousand visitors.
