Strong quake hits Japan's Kanto region

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 jolted Japan's Kanto region on Saturday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
  
The focus of the quake, which occurred at 14:52 p.m. (0552 GMT), was 30 km below the sea east of Chiba Prefecture, Xinhua reported.
  
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property, and no tsunami warning was issued.
