Two passenger boats overturned, killing 30 people in the Kabul River in Afghanistan's province of Nangahar, Afghan AVA Press news agency reported.
"This morning, the boat, moving along the river in the Lalpur city of Nangahar province, faced with another boat, moving in the opposite direction," press secretary of the province's administration Ahmed Zia said on July 2.
Up to now, it was possible to save 11 people, he said. With the assistance of the population, rescue measures are taken on the scene. "Still there is not exact information on the number of passengers in the boat, but 30 people were reported dead," said Zia.
