One soldier with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed Thursday when his patrol struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in southern Afghanistan, said a statement of the alliance issued here on Friday.

One soldier with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed Thursday when his patrol struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in southern Afghanistan, said a statement of the alliance issued here on Friday, Xinhua reported.
  
Air Force Capt. Elizabeth Mathias, a U.S. spokesperson, confirmed that the deceased is U.S. serviceman.
  
Conflicts and Taliban-led insurgency have claimed over 357 international troops so far this year in war-torn Afghanistan.
  
Six Italian soldiers and 10 Afghan civilians were kill Thursday by a suicide car bomb targeted ISAF convoy patrolling Afghan capital city of Kabul.
