The death toll of twin blasts in the Ugandan capital city of Kampala late Sunday night has risen to 64, including more than 10 foreigners, police spokesperson confirmed here on Monday, Xinhua reported.
Judith Nabakooba, police spokesperson, told reporters at the government's media center that the first explosion in Ethiopian Village restaurant, south of Kampala, killed 15 people, including 10 Ethiopians, one Indian, one Westerner and three Ugandans.
An American national was among the dead in the bloody attacks, the U.S. Embassy said.
The second one ripped through Kyadondo Rugby Club, east of Kampala, where hundreds of football fans were watching the World Cup final.
So far, 71 people were injured in both blasts. Police did not rule out terror attacks yet, according to Nabakooba.
Somali militia faction fighting Somali Transitional Government warned of launching attacks on civilian targets in Kampala, which had more than 2,000 peacekeepers in the war-torn country.
The blasts occurred a week before the African Union summit is to be hosted here, which would bring together most African leaders and senior officials, raising concerns on the security during the meeting.
