An Afghan man was arrested in Abu Dhabi on Saturday with eight kilos of heroin hidden in DVDs, car cassette players and video tapes, police said, reported DPA.
The man came to the country with the intention of selling the drug, police spokesman Hammad al-Hammadi said.
In June, four men were sentenced to death in what was described as the city's largest heroin case, after which the United Arab Emirates announced it was stepping up inspections at border crossings.
