Libertadores Cup winning coach hopes to lead Brazilian national team

After steering Internacional to win the 2010 Libertadores Cup, Celso Roth said on Friday he expects to take the helm of the Brazilian national team in future, Xinhua reported.

Roth believes that he now has what it takes to make him the right person for the job, which are experience and titles.

"Whenever I have been asked about being the head coach of the Brazilian national team, I said that you have to win a regional championship followed by a continental title. Now that I won a continental title, I will try to win a national title," Roth said.

"Besides, I have six years' experience coaching abroad. I think I become closer for the position."

Roth, who has a contract with the club running until December, added that every coach has the desire to take charge at the Brazilian national team.

Roth said he will help Internacional improve in this year's Brazilian Championship to conclude a perfect year.

They currently stand in seventh place with 20 points after 14 rounds.
