At least five people died and 20 more were injured on Sunday during a highway accident in Pasco department, center of Peru, Xinhua reported.
According to local media reports, a passenger bus went out of the road and turned over in the 97 km of the La Oroya-Cerro de Pasco highway, apparently due to the pouring rain affecting the Andean region.
To the moment, five of the victims have been identified, Marcelino Cotrina, a 57-year-old man, Hugo Salcedo Papa and Sosimo Lopez, 47-year-old-men, and another two men between 45 to 50 years old, local radio station Radio Programas de Peru (RPP) said.
Most of the injured were taken to a hospital in Pasco, according to the RPP.
