A shopping mall fire has caused 17 dead, 1 missing and 28 injured in Jilin City of northeast China's Jilin Province, local officials said Saturday, Xinhua reported.
The blaze broke out at about 9:15 a.m. Friday at the Shopping Center in Yunchun Street.
The general manager of the mall has been detained by police for questioning.
