India and Russia Tuesday said attempts should be made to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through talks, DPA reported.
They also called on Iran to comply with the provisions of United Nations Security Council resolutions and extend full cooperation to the International Atomic Energy Agency in a joint statement.
"India and Russia reiterated that all possible efforts should be made to address the Iranian nuclear issue through dialogue and negotiations," the statement said.
The statement was issued after talks between visiting Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.
India and Russia agreed that Iran has the right to research, produce and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes in conformity with its international obligations.
