Bomb disposal experts were on Monday defusing a package believed to contain explosives found in front of the Greek Embassy in Rome, officials said.

The find comes after bombs exploded last Thursday at the Swiss and Chilean embassies in the Italian capital. Two people were injured in the blasts.

An Italian anarchist group claimed responsibility for those two attacks.

Several other suspect packages found Monday at the Danish, Venezuelan and Principality of Monaco embassies were believed to have been false alarms, a police source told the German Press Agency dpa.
