Egypt's Islamic opposition organization Muslim Brothers announced the decision to establish a political party, the organization's website reported.
In its statement, the Muslim Brothers stressed that it planned to create a party long ago, but it was banned by the government.
Muslim Brothers is Egypt's largest Islamic organization, founded in 1920, and officially banned since 1954.
The organization announced its intention to create a political party after President Hosni Mubarak's resignation.
