Vietnam's National Assembly on Tuesday re-elected Nguyen Tan Dung for another five years as the country9s most powerful politician, dpa reported.
Nguyen Tan Dung received 94 per cent of votes in a symbolic election which followed the confirmation of Truong Tan Sang as president Monday, replacing Nguyen Minh Triet who has retired.
The assembly, elected in May, is voting for the country's leaders and cabinet for the next five years, in effect rubber-stamping the selection made by the Communist Party's national congress in January.
The premier will face a challenging term struggling with one of the highest inflation rates in the world and a double-digit trade deficit.
