Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has today received a personal message from U.S. President Barack Obama, Ak orda website reported.
Obama believes that since gaining independence, Kazakhstan has been one of the global leaders in nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, CA-NEWS reported.
President Obama noted the significance of the Second Summit on Nuclear Security scheduled for March 2012 in Seoul.
The letter underscores that as a part of the Seoul summit, Washington and Astana can make a considerable contribution in resolution of problems in nuclear security and determine further steps to the world free of nuclear weapons.
He expressed hope for meeting with Nazarbayev in Seoul to discuss bilateral relations and the Kazakh-U.S. cooperation at the international scene, the report reads.
