Conservative Boris Johnson has been re-elected for a second term as mayor of London in a tight race with Labour Party challenger Ken Livingstone, results Friday showed.
The outcome of Thursday's vote means that Johnson, 47, will remain mayor of the British capital during this summer's London Olympics, dpa reported.
Johnson defeated Livingstone, who held the post from 2000-08, in a close race. Around 5.8 million Londoners were eligible to vote.
