The number of victims of the earthquake in northern Italy has increased to seven, RIA Novosti reported.

In addition the number of people who were evacuated for fear of aftershocks has been increased from 3,000 to 4,500.

On Tuesday, a state of emergency will be declared in the country.

On Sunday night, 36 kilometers north of the city of Bologna there was an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 on the Richter scale which was the largest in the Apennines in the last three years.

A short time later there was another earthquake of magnitude 5.1.

Repeated quake in Italy

Another earth shock was felt in northern Italy, in a region where an earthquake took place in the early hours of Sunday.

The new shock took place in 36 kms to the north from the city of Bologna. Its magnitude was 6.0 points. Several houses were damaged.

5 workers of local enterprises were killed by the quake. Another 2 women died of heart attacks produced by fear. At least 50 people were injured.

After the first quake, the local authorities, fearing a repeat, evacuated about 3,000 people from the cities of Modena and Ferrara. Besides, about 500 prisoners were evacuated from a prison in Ferrara.
