US believes Snowden in Russia, expects extradition

The US believes Edward Snowden remains in Russia, and expects Moscow to "look at all options available to them" to send him back to the US to face charges related to the leaking of classified documents, dpa reported.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Hong Kong's decision to allow Snowden to leave was a "deliberate" choice and would damage relations with China and Hong Kong.

He pointed to the history of cooperation between the US and Russia on extradition requests.
