Interpol's special commission decided to put Ukraine's ex-president Viktor Yanukovych, his son Oleksandr Yanukovych, and the ex-prime minister, Mykola Azarov on the international wanted list, Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said, the Interfax agency reported Jan. 12.
"Victor Yanukovych, Oleksandr Yanukovych, Mykola Azarov, Raisa Bogatyreva, Kolobov (ex-finance minister), Dzekon (ex-head of Ukrtelecom) were put on Interpol's international wanted list," the interior minister said on his Facebook page on Monday.
He noted that Interpol's special commission made the decision after receiving an inquiry from Ukrainian authorities in March 2014, reasoning of this position and preparation of explanations on the prepared inquiries of the Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine.
