The ministry of foreign affairs of Ukraine announced its decision to suspend press accreditation for the Russian media, the press service of the ministry told TASS Russian news agency March 5.

"Starting from this week, we will not accredit the Russian media [to events at the Foreign Ministry]," said the press service.

Last week, the press service of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine notified a number of Russian media about the suspension of the accreditation of journalists to Ukrainian parliament.

Earlier, Security Service of Ukraine approved a list of Russian media, for which accreditation at the bodies of state power will be temporarily suspended until the end of the "special operations" in Donbass conducted by Ukraine authorities. The list includes more than 100 TV channels, news agencies and radio stations that are registered in Russia.

In mid-February 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to stop accreditation of journalists and technical staff part of the Russian mass media for until the end of the "special operations" in Donbass conducted by the state authorities of Ukraine. The list of Russian media, for which the accreditation will be suspended by the state authorities, will be determined by the Security Service of Ukraine.
