The Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015 seeks to increase energy and water usage standards in US federal and commercial buildings and homes, Sputniknews reported.
"There's a lot of low-hanging fruit - this is the area where we can have the greatest environmental impact while making sure that we're creating good jobs and saving businesses and consumers money," Obama said before signing the bill into law.
The President praised bipartisanship for the "win-win" bill.
