Now that time is ripe for construction and reconstruction of Afghanistan, Iran announces its readiness to contribute in this area, Supreme Leader's Adviser in International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said on Sunday, IRNA reported.
The head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council made the comment in the First Iran-Afghanistan Strategic Talks Session.
He said the bilateral session was very fruitful and positive, evaluating such meetings as constructive.
'The Afghan people have fallen preys to the expansionist tendencies of those who were quite irrelevant with the nature and demands of that nation,' said Velayati.
He praised the resistance and gallantry of the Afghan nation throughout the past decades who have tolerated huge massacres, but never yielded to defeat.
The former foreign minister said that the US is trying to safe its face in Afghanistan as it says it will evacuate its forces in accordance with the signed agreements.
