Newly-trained crews of Russia's advanced S-400 Triumf air defense systems assigned to an air defense unit located in Western Siberia have carried out on Wednesday successful field firing destroying targets at a range in southern Russia, Sputnik reported with the reference to the country's Defense Ministry.
"Today, at Kapustin Yar range in the Astrakhan region, anti-aircraft gunners of the Central Military District destroyed four high-speed targets simulated by the most hard-to-hit Kaban target missiles," the statement reads.
The S-400 Triumf (NATO reporting name SA-21 Growler) is Russia's next-generation air defense system, carrying three different types of missiles capable of destroying aerial targets at short-to-extremely long range.
