Chile wins Copa America, beating Argentina
Chile has won the Copa America, beating Argentina 4-2 on penalties after a fractious, physical 0-0 draw in New Jersey.
An end to end affair, which saw both Marcelo Diaz and Marcos Rojo red-carded in the first half, could not be decided in regular time nor extra time.
Arturo Vidal missed Chile's first penalty, only for Lionel Messi to balloon his kick well over the crossbar.
Argentinian midfielder Lucas Biglia then missed the crucial fourth kick, allowing Francisco Silva to net the winning penalty as Chile defended its 2015 title.
