(Itar-Tass) - As many as 1,701 citizens of Russia and the CIS, including 555 children, have been evacuated from Lebanon and Palestine, director of the international affairs department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, head of the Russian national emergency humanitarian response corpse Yuri Brazhnikov told Itar-Tass.
The official pointed out, "Evacuation of citizens from the Middle East conflict area has been held not only by planes of the emergencies ministry, but of other air companies as well." A total of 36 people have been evacuated from Palestine via Jordan and the overwhelming majority- from Lebanon, Brazhnikov indicated, reports Trend.
