(Itar-Tass) - A plane of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations will deliver to Cyprus on Monday the third consignment of the humanitarian cargo for Lebanon.
The Il-76 transport plane is to take off from the Ramenskoe airfield, Moscow Region, on Monday morning, a representative of the information department of the Emergencies Ministry told Itar-Tass.
The plane will deliver medical supplies and food for Lebanon, he added. In Cyprus the cargo will be turned over to representatives of the U.N. Food Programme, who will transport it to Lebanon by sea, reports Trend.
This is going to be the third special flight of planes of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for delivering humanitarian cargoes to the population of Lebanon, affected by the Lebanese-Israeli conflict.
Previously a total of 50 tons of humanitarian cargoes were delivered to Cyprus by two transport planes. The cargoes included large-size tents, blankets, disposable plates and dishes, pillows and sets of bed linen.
Another plane with humanitarian cargoes will fly to Cyprus on August 23. Officials of the Emergencies Ministry believe it will be the last flight in the operation for the delivery of humanitarian cargoes to the Lebanese population.
