Transport minister says Russia-US talks on air traffic were positive
The negotiations between Russia and the US on the development of air traffic were positive, Russian Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh told journalists, Trend reports referring to TASS.
"Positive," he said, answering the question on the results of the negotiations that were held in Washington on February 26-28. "The negotiations on the extension of contacts and cooperation were rather substantial and comfortable. We hope that these contacts will continue to extend in the future."
The previous meeting between the representatives for the aviation authorities of the two countries was held in June 2018. It, in particular, reportedly focused on issues of transit cargo transportations of American air companies through Russia’s airspace.
The air communication between the United States and Russia has recently seen a number of problems. In particular, due to the issue of American companies’ transit Washington tightened demands for three Russian companies - Aeroflot, AirBridgeCargo (part of the Volga-Dnepr group) and Yakutia - in May last year.
