Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan
met Tuesday President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Karim Masimov of Kazakhstan in Astana, reported Worldbuletin.
During his meeting with Nazarbayev at the Presidential Palace, Toptan said that
Turkey appreciated the remarkable economic and social improvement in Kazakhstan.
Noting that the good relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan should be improved
more, Toptan also thanked Nazarbayev for his country's support for Turkey in its efforts for non-permanent membership to UN Security Council.
President Nazarbayev said during the meeting that Turkey and Kazakhstan had good economic and political relations since the day his country declared its
independence.
Nazarbayev also said he called on Turkish businessmen to make investments in
his country, adding that the trade volume between Turkey and Kazakhstan exceeded 2 billion USD.
Toptan had a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Maimov as well.
After a tete-a-tete meeting between the two officials, Turkish and Kazakh
delegations held talks.
